The second section of our
three year ride across America will cross our country in
Texas. What a humongous state -diverse in towns, people and
scenery. As some of you asked-“Is there anything
special to see in Texas?” Oh, yes! We’ll
start where we ended last year at the Hampden Inn in El Paso. Then
we will proceed through historic forts and hotels, wide open
spaces, quiet small towns and roads all of which are populated
by very cordial people. You’ll be in the mountains
near Ft. Davis and inVan Horn
(a town put on the map by John Madden who likes to eat there
on his cross-country drives to ball games). In Brackettville
(an old army Fort), there will be time to visit the set of
John Wayne’s The Alamo, if you wish. You will have
a day off in Fredericksburg a quaint German resort town.
It will be springtime in the great American Southwest. Once
again, you'll have the ride of your life!
