March 16: Rest Day in St Francisville,
Louisiana
We took a rest day in St Francisville
today. The timing was excellent as two
people had chest colds and at least two of us had stomach flu or a less awful
but still uncomfortable digestive variation on that theme. Our theory is that we’re not used to the
strong spices and deep-fried everything, but it may be that we’re just
adjusting to new gut flora of the southeast or passing around a little bug. Whatever the cause, the rest day was well
timed.
Many of the rest of us toured a historical plantation near
town. I can’t tell you anything about
the tour because I was one of the stomach flu victims, but I’ll include some beautiful
photos taken by Andy Anderson below.
