HeartCycle New Rider Discount Program!

The purpose of the HeartCycle New Rider Discount Program is to encourage new, younger cyclists to experience bicycle touring and become involved with HeartCycle. The program provides a financial incentive (award/discount) for first-time HeartCycle tour participants age 45 and younger, helping reduce the cost of trying a HeartCycle tour while introducing a new generation of riders to the club, its tours, and its community.

Eligibility requirements to apply for an award:

• Applicants must be first-time HeartCycle tour participants*
• Applicants must be age 45 and under at the time of tour registration
• Awarded applicants will be required to pay the club dues for the upcoming tour year to be eligible to register for a tour
• Applicants wishing to request an award must follow the application instructions and apply within the application window

* first-time HeartCycle tour participant means that the applicant must not have previously participated in a HeartCycle tour. Prior HeartCycle membership or participation in non-tour club activities does not affect eligibility.

Program Guidelines:

• Awarded participants receive a 20% discount on the cost of any domestic HeartCycle tour in the upcoming tour year.
• Awarded participants may use their discount when registering for either double occupancy or single occupancy. The 20% discount applies to the respective tour price. Single supplement availability is limited on each tour.
• Awarded participants will receive priority registration on the tour they register for.
• The award is valid for a single, domestic tour only.
• Participants must be age 45 and under at the time of tour registration to qualify for a discount.
• Participants must be first-time HeartCycle tour participants to qualify.
• A maximum of 15 awards will be awarded through the program for the upcoming tour year.
• Awards must be used during the upcoming tour year, do not carry over to the following year, and are non-transferable.
• Award participants must pay the club dues for the upcoming tour year to be eligible to register for a tour.
• Awards cannot be used for international tours.
• Those wishing to request a discount must do so within the application window.
• If more applications are received than available awards, a lottery will be performed.
• Once awarded, discounts will not be reissued if a recipient chooses not to use the award.

Application Instructions:

• Prospective new riders who meet the program eligibility requirements must submit an email request to be considered for an award.
• The email request must be made during the application window. The application window for the upcoming tour year will be published on the HeartCycle website.
• The application window is determined for each upcoming tour year and is typically a 10-day period immediately preceding the opening of the first batch of domestic tours for registration.
• The request must be emailed to Cody Ensanian (heartcyclecody@gmail.com) and include the following: o the applicant’s first and last name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
• Requests received outside the application window will not be considered for an award.

Award process and notifications:

• At the close of the application window:
  • If 15 or fewer eligible applications are received, all eligible applicants will be awarded a discount. o If more than 15 eligible applications are received, a random lottery will be conducted to select 15 recipients.
• Awarded applicants will be notified via email of their award and provided instructions for applying the discount to an eligible domestic HeartCycle tour.
• Non-winners will also be notified.
